In the street, the smell of warm bread
The shopping street doesn't wait for the sun. Long before the shutters open, the bread oven is lit, the baker has fallen asleep over his kneading trough, and the chocolatier begins her shift. Above the rooftops, a chimney releases the first smoke of the day; at the foot of the facades, the scent of fresh bread wafts from one shopfront to the next. Four trades, six shops, six artisans: the Rue de Provence awakens, and the day begins with the hands of those who nourish it.
