The procession saw the star
The shooting star guided the procession to its very last steps. The caravan halted in the open scrubland, water was drawn for the animals, and the guests prepared themselves. In the center, the eldest of the three Kings had already knelt, his jeweled casket at ground level, before the treasure that the pages presented in an arc. Further on, the two brothers advanced, followed by the elephant and the dromedary, which walked at a leisurely pace. The winter morning was clear, and the journey was drawing to a close.
